Cold War in the 80's
The 80's was a time of war in America. With the new leader of the soviet union, Milkhail Gorbachev. Ronald Regan was new to the office too. Godachev promoted liberalization of the political landscape. Godachev was also one of the first leaders to allow capacitors elements in their economy. The USSR began facing economic difficulties so they wanted to decrease the money they were spending on the arms race with the US. In 1991 the Soviet Union collapsed and the cold war ended.
The Cold War was not the only thing that lead to the fall of the Soviet Union. One problem with the Soviet Union was leader Milkhail Gorbachev could not keep the promises he made at the begging of his run. For example he said they would get out of the arms race which he did as a matter of fact try to do but with no luck. Another promise he made was that withdraw the Soviet troops from Afighanistan. The war being fought in Afighanistan had been being fough all the way back since 1979. Since Gorbachev could not keep his word, Baltic states such as Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia began declaring their independence from Moscow. The Republic of Belarus and Ukraine then Broke away ultimately putting an end to the Soviet Union.
