60's and 70's
The 60's and 70's was a year of great accomplishments as well as sad times. Many of those sad times were in the 1960's due to assasinations. 3 huge national figures were assasinated in the 60's. They are Malcom C, Martin Luther King Jr, and John F Kennedy.
Malcom X was a famous human rights activist and minister. He was assassinated February 21st, 1965. He was killed in Washington Heights, New York. Malcom was a big role in both the African-American rights momement as well as muslim rights. Malcom X was shot by Nation of Islam members while speaking at a rally of his. It was a sad day and many people lost a hero.
Martin Luther King Jr. was another person who undeservingly lost their life in the 1960's. MLK Jr was a civil rights activist who was arguably one of the most influential people of all time. Martin was a peaceful protestor that enjoyed giving speeches as a at to get his message of equality out. On April 4, 1968 he was shot in a motel in Memphis, Tennessee.
One last perso assassinated in the 1960's is John F Kennedy. JFK's assignation is quite a mystery. JFK was a president who was riding in the back of a convertible when he was shot on November 22, 1962 at 12:30. Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for the morning but it's debatable that he was the only shooter involved. Many conspirators believe that there is no way that the bullet could hit both JFK and his assistant who was sitting in front of him in one shot. Either way, the 1960's was a sad time of loss for the United States.
